Now is the time to change fluids in your boat before summer starts

Before you set sail for the first time this spring, let the staff at the Resort Boat Shop help you perform the proper annual services that will keep your boat running smooth for years to come.

When you commission your boat for summer, you want to take care of all basic maintenance Similar to a car, boats should have regular fluid changes, especially after sitting stagnant for a winter season. Changes should be made to the oil and filters, and gear lube should be added if necessary.

We’ve been waiting all winter to get back on the water, and now is the time to fix any problems and care for any routine maintenance, so no matter when summer officially starts, you’ll be ready to hit the water. In general, overall tune-ups and a full diagnostic check are important to do every three to four years, due to the conditions of the northwest, so think back to the last time you had an overall tune-up. Is it time for your next one?

There is a lot to do when readying your boat for summer, and it can be extremely easy to forget something. Skipping a crucial step could be detrimental for you boat’s maintenance, and your safety. As always, we want to remind you that this is a job for a knowledgeable boating professional.
